Regina Bures received her Ph.D. in Sociology
from Brown University in 1998. Her current research focuses on studying
the relationship between historic preservation, segregation, and 20th
century urban change in Charleston, South Carolina. She is also
examining the relationship between family transitions and life course
change in later midlife. Dr. Bures has received research funding from
the National Science Foundation, the National Institute on Aging, and
the Center for Retirement Research (Boston College). Her recent work
was been published in Demography and the American Journal of
Public Health. Dr. Bures teaches Aging and the Life Course, Social
Inequality and Urban Sociology.
