Introduction to the Online Application

Before beginning the online application, please read How Sociology Admissions Work

After completing the online application, you will still need to send certain materials to us by post.  Official transcripts and official reports of GRE scores must be sent to the Admissions Office. The online application form (on a later screen) will provide the address for submission of official transcripts to the Admissions Office.  Please have the Educational Testing Service send official GRE test score reports to the University of Florida  (international applicants should also submnit official reports of TOEFL and TSE scores).

In addition, the following materials must be mailed to the Sociology Department to supplement your online application:

    • three letters of recommendation
    • a two to four page statement of purpose
    • copies of all college transcripts (in addition to the official copies you submit to the Office of Admissions).
    • the fellowship and assistantship application
You can print out the fellowship and assistantship application and recommendation forms, using your web browser print function or Adobe Acrobat®, from our How to Apply page.

Please also mail a photocopy of GRE test scores to the department.   International applicants should submit a photocopy of TOEFL (and, if applying for financial aid, TSE) scores.

Mail these materials to:
